Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
Blank Space Strategy ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy sets out how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you visit blankspacestrategy.co.nz, contact us, or engage us for services. We operate under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, and where relevant, the Australian Privacy Principles.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Information you provide directly. When you complete our contact form, book a meeting via Calendly, or email us, we collect your name, email address, company or organisation, phone number (if provided), and the contents of your message.
- Information we collect automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting and analytics providers log standard technical information: IP address, approximate location (country / region), browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and time spent on each page.
- Information from third-party platforms. If you interact with our LinkedIn profile, our newsletter, or advertising on partner platforms, those services may share limited engagement data with us in aggregate form.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to enquiries and schedule meetings
- Deliver the services you engage us for
- Understand how the site is used so we can improve it
- Measure the effectiveness of our marketing and advertising
- Meet our legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Cookies and tracking technologies
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies to make it work, to measure how it's used, and to support our advertising. The main technologies are:
- Google Analytics 4 & Google Tag Manager — measures site usage and traffic sources. Data is aggregated and pseudonymised.
- OpenAI ChatGPT Ads pixel — used on our partner landing page to measure the effectiveness of advertising we run through OpenAI's ad platform.
- Calendly — sets session cookies when you book a meeting so the scheduling flow works.
- Netlify & Sanity — our hosting and content platforms set functional cookies necessary to serve pages and content.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking or deleting cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
Who we share your information with
We share limited personal information with a small number of trusted service providers who help us operate. These are:
- Google (United States) — analytics and tag management
- OpenAI (United States) — advertising measurement on the partner page
- Calendly (United States) — meeting scheduling
- Netlify (United States) — website hosting and delivery
- Sanity (United States, European Union) — content management
- Email and productivity providers — for responding to enquiries and managing our engagement records
Where these providers process your information outside New Zealand or Australia, we rely on their contractual commitments and industry-standard safeguards to protect it.
How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or for as long as we're required to by law. Contact form enquiries are retained while they're an active conversation and for a reasonable period afterwards. Client engagement records are retained in line with our tax and legal obligations. Analytics data is retained according to our providers' standard settings.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Ask us what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information you believe is wrong or out of date
- Ask us to delete your information, where we're not required to keep it
- Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time
- Make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe we've mishandled your information
If you're an Australian resident, equivalent rights apply under the Australian Privacy Principles, and you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
To exercise any of these rights, email us at fraser@blankspacestrategy.co.nz. We aim to respond within 20 working days.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, and disclosure. This includes using reputable providers for hosting, email, and content management, and restricting internal access to information on a need-to-know basis. No transmission over the internet is entirely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
