OBERY brings its atelier model to Australia

OBERY, an Auckland-based design studio we've been working with since 2024, is now operational in the Australian market and working with architects and interior designers ahead of opening a dedicated trade atelier in Melbourne's Cremorne later this autumn. The Melbourne studio will be led by co-founder Lindy Messam and continues the atelier model that has shaped OBERY's reputation in New Zealand: a space built for architects and interior designers to engage directly with materials, test ideas, and take their time, without the constraints of a traditional showroom.

Yellowtrace described the offering as "a considered local resource with a global lens" for an Australian design community accustomed to sourcing internationally. The Melbourne atelier will showcase The Rug Company, Artemest, and an exclusive sculptural ceramic tile collection by Studio Lucy McMillan, alongside OBERY’s curated hard surfaces portfolio.

Blank Space Strategy has been embedded with OBERY and its sister brands The Tile People and DCA Facade Australia since 2024, working across strategy, digital media, marketing operations, UX, and internal AI tooling. The Australian expansion is a significant step for the wider business, and we're looking forward to seeing the doors open later this year!

Congratulations to Glenn, Jane, Lindy, and the wider OBERY team. Read the full Yellowtrace feature here.
